Welcome to our Community! There are many things to uncover and discover in this beautiful mountain place, a bit of rural country in big LA County. Of course, the Topanga Community Club is one of them! We want to welcome our new neighbors with open arms and and an earful of good news about what the Community Club and the Topanga community in general has to offer.

Topanga Town Council Topanga is an unincorporated town within the Los Angeles County Supervisor’s Third District. Since 1977, the Town Council, a 501(c)(4) has served the Topanga community by providing a mechanism and forum for the residents, businesses and property owners to exchange ideas and relate concerns affecting Topanga, and to communicate with the Supervisor’s office on government issues. The Council works closely with the CHP, Fire, Sheriff, Supervisor’s office, and local organizations to assist with an avenue of interaction and cooperation. Headed by Stacy Sledge since 2008, the TTC has spearheaded numerous community initiatives, including the formation of our community website,  Created through a grant received from the County of LA Supervisor’s office, the OneTopanga website is the brainchild of the Topanga Town Council envisioned as an information hub for our community. Consider this your “yellow pages” directory and community calendar where all Topanga events on any given day are listed.

Topanga Messenger  – our Voice of the Canyon for the past 37 years! The Topanga Messenger has been the staff-owned, independent newspaper of record covering the news and arts of the Santa Monica Mountains for Topanga Canyon and adjacent communities since 1976. The current print edition of the Topanga Messenger newspaper is available for sale at various locations throughout Topanga Canyon. Subscriptions are available online for print and online versions.


Topanga Chamber of Commerce The Topanga Community Club is proud to be a non-profit member of our local Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber encourages new Topanga businesses to become members and network through their monthly morning and evening mixers as well as ample opportunities to serve in the community.


Topanga Association for a Scenic Communitystrives to maintain an orderly development of Topanga in keeping with its natural terrain and intrinsic beauty.TASC is an organization of residents and property owners in Topanga Canyon concerned about the future of our distinct rural community.

Topanga Women’s Circleis an organization of volunteer women who help the neediest of families by furnishing their new housing with the little necessities we take for granted. By providing new and like-new items, we help create an environment of comfort, warmth and dignity.



Friends of the Topanga Library is a volunteer-run organization that supports the library and library events – join today to get involved! Friends of the Library are people who care about libraries and are interested in increasing awareness of the library in their communities. The County Library currently has 77 Friends of the Library groups with over 5,523 members.


Topanga Historical Society The Topanga Historical Society (THS) was organized in 1974 by a group of dedicated community leaders who recognized the urgent need to collect and preserve records of Topanga’s unique history and to make them available to future generations. The Society maintains an archive center and presents local history programs.

Topanga Youth Services provides creative enrichment and community service for youths aged 10 – 17 for little or no charge. Participants can attend monthly events, community service outings, field trips or a more comprehensive series of activities to instill teamwork, behavior skills, creativity, and confidence.

Canyon SagesTopanga’s first and only social and service organization designed for Topanga’s older generation. The Sages was born in 2009 as a committee of the Topanga Town Council set up to create activities for seniors and reach out to those seniors isolated or in need. In the fall of 2013, the Sages changed partners, and came under their non-profit umbrella of the Topanga Community Club.

Topanga Youth Wildlife ProjectThis is a local, youth­‐driven, parent-organized group working to raise awareness on rodent poisons affecting our local wildlife food chain, through essay and drawing contests, public outreach and education and the building of owl nesting boxes to as an alternative to rodenticides.


Nature of Wildworks  The Nature of Wildworks has a two-fold mission. One is to provide life long quality care for non-releasable wild animals. This means plenty of love and attention as well as the employment of various enrichment techniques to keep the animals stimulated and entertained. Secondly, The Nature of Wildworks strives to build public respect and concern for native wildlife and the California environment through student programs that meet California school’s curriculum mandates.

Arson Watch ARSON WATCH is a completely volunteer organization funded by the non-profit “Friends of the ARSON WATCH and disaster Services, Inc. (FAWDS). Today, more than reactive, volunteers of all ages and backgrounds patrol the Santa Monica Mountains during periods of extreme fire weather conditions. They cover an area over 185 square miles, logging somewhere between 2,500 and 4,000 total volunteer hours. These ARSON WATCH Volunteers use their own vehicles (identified by magnetic ARSON WATCH signs) and two-way radios.

T-CEP Topanga Coalition for Emergency PreparednessThe Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness (T-CEP) is a nonprofit, volunteer organization whose purpose is to help the Topanga community prepare for and cope with disasters such as wildfires, floods, and earthquakes. Since its inception, T-CEP has acquired its non-profit status, opened an Emergency Operations Center ( EOC ), and has developed a communications system to provide accurate and up-to-the-minute information to canyon residents and businesses during emergencies. T-CEP is made up of community volunteers.

Topanga SymphonyThe Topanga Symphony was founded in the summer of 1982 and has since presented a regular program of free concerts of high quality. It is truly a community orchestra, consisting of a mixture of amateurs, students and professional musicians. The audiences consist mainly of community residents, but every concert is attended by music lovers from all over the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Being community based, the orchestra provides a good opportunity for aspiring musicians to work with experienced professionals.
